What to Expect
Initial Conversation
We’ll start with a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. You’ll share what’s bringing you in, what you’ve tried, and what you’re hoping will feel different. I’ll ask a few thoughtful questions, reflect on what I’m hearing, and you’ll have space to ask about my style, logistics, and next steps.
Therapy Sessions
We’ll meet for 55 minutes each week to build momentum and create consistency. We’ll slow things down enough to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, while also staying practical about what you can apply between sessions. Over time, we can adjust frequency based on your needs, goals, and capacity.
Co-Create Goals
Therapy at Bonfire is collaborative, which means we create goals that actually match your life. We’ll clarify what matters most to you, name the patterns that keep showing up, and translate that into concrete aims we can track. We’ll revisit goals regularly so the work stays aligned, flexible, and honest to what you’re learning about yourself.
Working Together
You’re the expert on your life, and I bring clinical training, structure, and perspective. Think of this as teamwork: we problem-solve together, build skills together, and make room for both the heavy stuff and real-life progress. My job is to be a steady teammate who helps you feel seen, supported, and challenged in a respectful, sustainable way.

For individual therapy, you must be physically in New York or New Jersey during the session.

Frequency is always collaborative. I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions. Meeting weekly helps us build trust, momentum, and a strong foundation. It allows us to get to the heart of what’s going on more efficiently.
Over time, some clients transition to biweekly or maintenance sessions depending on progress and needs - We’ll adjust as we go.

If you are not using insurance, the standard rate for a 55-minute session is $200.
If you would like to use insurance, out-of-network reimbursement may be available with Thrizer.
If you are experiencing financial stress, I hold a few significantly reduced-rate slots available for up to 6 months. I also offer limited sliding scale spots with a modest reduction. If you are in a position to pay the full session fee, I encourage you to do so as you will help sustain the practice’s ability to offer reduced rates to those who need.

If you’re not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of your care.
This estimate gives you a clear picture of what your non-emergency services, including psychotherapy, are likely to cost. You can request one before scheduling if that feels helpful.
If you’re ever billed at least $400 more than the estimate you received, you have the right to dispute the charge. Be sure to keep a copy of your estimate for your records.
